The association “Nihonto” carries out the entire range of restoration works of historical and modern traditional Japanese weapons.
All works are carried out in accordance with traditional techniques and materials and are performed by a group of craftsmen who specialize exclusively in their own profile.
The main types of restoration work:
- Traditional polishing of the blade
- Production of Sirasay (resting scabbards)
- Making the base for Nurizai (scabbard)
- Prepared Tsunagi (wooden copy of the blade)
- Preparing the hilt of the TSUKA sword
- Replacement and renewal of Samegawa (skatu skins)
- Production of the Habaka coupling
- Modeling and manufacturing of missing blade elements and fittings
- Production of Kashirai horn elements (koiguti, kurikata, kojiri)
